You need to see what is required in your area. Call the code enforcement and ask them. As long as your footing system is below the frost freeze then it shouldnt matter if the slab itself has a footing system on it or not. City officials are only co

Building a steel building in area where freezing is an issue. Can a pier /floating slab design be used? Or will the slab need a frost footing perimeter as well?

Yes, trowelling is to make the slab smooth. That's it. It doesn't make it stronger, but could make the surface a bit denser so water doesn't penetrate as quickly. However, to get to that stage, you'd about have to make it super smooth, slick, and

I am sorry I didn't see these replies sooner. I must have omitted to 'watch' this topic and therefore didn't get any notice that there'd been replies. Sorry. It is not exterior and it is not readymix and, therefore I guess, it is not 'air entrained'

How long ago was this done? My guess is the contractor will try and just crack seal it to get away with it... which if your worried about cosmetic will look worse...

Depending on the manufacture, denatured alcohol should activate the sealer. Roll some on and see if you can get it leveled out. If not then a stripper should be used. Have her keep her cloths on while she helps you...... (One of the soy products shou

I don't think there's much you can do about crazing. Those types of cracks are just on the surface and are strictly cosmetic. I'd be much more concerned about the other cracks caused by the lack of crack control joints. It doesn't look like he pla
