I really want to know on average what concrete is going for by the yard.

It ranges from $42 to +$100, depending on the region you are in and the mix you want. The best thing to do is call a ready mix concrete company in your area. They can give you a ball park number.

I requested a price from a redi-mix company in North Florida on July 5, 2001. The cost per yard goes down as the number of yards goes up. There's a discount for large volume buyers. However, for one truck load, 10 yards, they were asking $78.00 per yard.
Fiber reinforcement could be added for an additional cost of $5.00 per yard.

In Southern Utah, I get a 4,000 psi mix for a base price of about $83 per yd. then fuel if hauled long distances, and a $10 enviro. fee.

Anybody using recycled concrete as an aggregate for concrete?

In Salt Lake City, UT, crushed concrete is used for aggregate by Geneva rock and other redi-mix companies. It outperforms all other aggregate by FAR...they get a higher psi break EVERY time.

That's good information. I was in that business for awhile(recycled concrete) and I am convinced it an awesome product!

Separating the fines is a problem as is the contaminates, but if it is screened properly, it's a good aggregate.

What kind of breaks have you gotten?

Don't quote me cause it's been years since i've poured up north, but a BELIEVE they were getting 4,500 psi breaks out of a 6 bag.

I am in the desert southwest and was wondering if anybody has a rough idea how long a load of concrete could sit in a truck before they would refuse it. the temp. being 105 degrees.
